The Online Meeting
I always enjoy meeting couples before their wedding day and it is a really important part of the process.
It is a great time to get to know each other, to hear about your hopes and dreams for the day, as well as all the plans and details. I need to be a few steps ahead on the day, so chatting through timings is key for me to be able to do the best job I can.

The Wedding Day
Your special day has arrived!
On the day I will be punctual and dress suitably for the occasion. As far as is possible, I film the day in an unobtrusive way and always do my best to work respectfully with the photographer.
I capture the audio for the vows and speeches with audio devices of professional quality.
I use DSLR cameras that film stunning footage in beautiful 4K, with a number of lenses. This equipment enables me to get the shots I need but stand further back and not be too close to you. There are times where I may need to be closer, but I will inform you of those places at the online meeting.
To help, here is a breakdown of the parts of the day: how I film them and what you can expect.

Bridal Preparation Filming
If your package includes Bridal Preparations filming, I normally spend a few hours in the morning with you and your bridesmaids. The idea here is to film your hair and make-up being done, get the close-up shots of the dress, bouquet and jewellery. It is also a great time to get shots of the fun with your bridesmaids, champagne popping and present giving.
The Bridal Preparation Filming is a lovely start to the wedding film and it's the part of the wedding day the Groom will not be a part of. I can also get to the groom to film his preparations, but this does depend on the distance between your preparation locations.
Ceremony
I like to be able to get the ceremony venue an hour before the start of the ceremony. This allows time to set up the cameras in the ceremony room or church and capture the guests arriving, the groom and his groomsmen. I will then capture the bridesmaids and bride arriving.
For church weddings, I will purchase a Limited Manufacture License for the ceremony (copyright license for church hymns/organ music). I do my very best to get a place at the front of the ceremony, to get a lovely shot of the bride coming down the aisle and a good shot of the vows. The other camera will be positioned at the back of the room/church, but it is dependent on the space in the venue. I know that sound and audio are key to a gorgeous wedding film, so during the ceremony I use external microphones to get the best audio. I will mic up the groom with a lapel mic just beneath the groom's buttonhole. I have other external mics on hands should we need to record anything else in the ceremony. Legally I cannot film the signing of the register, I will however film the photos after the signing of the register.

Reception
At the reception, my role is to capture the guests enjoying themselves during the drinks reception. I take time during the day to get shots of the venue inside and out, as well as spending time in the wedding breakfast room. I always do my best to capture natural shots without making your guests uncomfortable, most of the time they won't know they are being filmed. I will film the couples arrival to reception venue and family photos, couple photos, receiving line (if you are having one), guests being seated and the couple's entrance into the reception room. I don't filming during the dinner and at that point require a break and meal.
The speeches are filmed on 2 cameras, one camera is normally on the person speaking, the other will be filming reaction shots on the head table. I place microphones on the head table in front of the speakers, to capture the best audio possible. The camera tripods are always positioned so the cameraman/equipment isn't blocking the view of your guests. During the evening I will film your evening guests arriving, the cake cutting and the first dance. For the Orchid Package, we will stay for 1.5 hours after the first dance to capture your guests enjoying the evening's entertainment.
